Back in 2015 I bought my xbox one. I downloaded the preview of the game The Long Dark, the preview was valid for like a day or something. After the preview expired I didn't buy the game. Fast forward to this week and I saw that The Long Dark was available to play with the Game Pass, so I downloaded it. The game didn't played. Said my preview period was over and I have to buy the game to play. You know what?! I've been working long hours lately so I think I deserve. Bought the game. It didn't played, again. Said my preview was over and I should buy the game (even though I just bought). Asked for a refund. Still wanna play the game, so I contact the support. Me and the nice guy from support spent a good 2 hours doing all kinds of stuff to get the game to play, with no success. "Don't worry, the advanced team will be in contact with you and they will fix your issue". Being a programmer I visualizing the bug in my head. The preview version of the game was stored in a player_has_game table and is not updating after purchasing the game. They'll connect to the DB and update it manually (or something similar). Well, they just can't fix the bug. The offered to refund me so I can buy the game with another account, and gave me 1 month free of Game Pass. So, there you go. Next time you think the software you're working on it's not good enough, remember that Microsoft could not delete a game from my account.
