AMC Uses Dark Patterns for Their AMC Stubs A-List Membership

So, I was thinking about joining AMC Stubs A-List membership, unlimted 3-movies per week membership, why not? So I go to their web site, and after entering my zip code, the site asks the question: "Would you like to use your A-list membership in other states?" I'm in NYC with no car, so I pick "NO". Believing that I would be offered the a lower membership price since I won't be using it in any other states. I got the $23.95 + tax. Not bad. Then, out of curiosity I wanted to see how much was the other membership, you know, the one across states lines, and lo and behold... well, I was offered the most expensive membership since I was not going to use it outside my state. Dark Patterns at work! See for yourself at https://ift.tt/3MezRiO. Maybe not illegal but, enough to turn me off, I didn't complete the purchase and I have an aversion for AMC now.
