Ask HN: Where do you hang out with community?

I thought it would be fun to share where we spend our time socializing with other folks in different communities, both online and IRL. Could be fun to find new community gathering spaces. Some suggestions to get the conversation going: * Conferences * Meetup groups * Forums and message boards * IRC/Discord/Slack servers/channels * Social media platforms (twitter, facebook, etc.) * P2P messaging platforms like scuttlebutt * Hackerspaces * Social coding sites (GitHub, GitLab, StackOverflow) Might be interesting to include what your focus areas are too! I'll start. I'm a software consultant/contractor. I mostly stick to SRE, Node.js and node-adjacent projects (like GraphQL), infrastructure, package management, etc. Places I hang out (a fairly short list): * HN (r3trohack3r) - Impossible for me to resist a comment box on this site * Twitter (@retrohack3r) - have cultivated a small set of thought leaders I tune into every once in a while * GitHub (retrohacker) - almost exclusively work, very little socializing here * LinkedIn (retrohacker) - stay in touch with ex-coworkers who I never exchanged contact information with COVID pretty much ended conferences for me, though that may change soon! But I've been to JSConf, NodeSummit, DefCon, re:Invent, microservices days, serverless conf, and empire node (that I remember).
