Predatorial old men preying on younger men at the workplace is misconduct

There's a big scandal unfurling at the BBC in London about allegations against a highly respected and well-known BBC presenter (who is married with two kids) chasing after and harassing young men for gay sex. It all started after a concerned mother tried to complain to the BBC about the presenter supposedly taking advantage of her financially distressed drug addicted sun (and consequently fueling his drug habit). My understanding of the claims are: - A mother claims that a BBC presenter took advantage of her financially poor drug addicted son for sex by paying him over 35,000, though the son himself has stated the claims were rubbish (through some of the most expensive lawyers in London might I add). - Two other men have claimed that the presenter harassed them on social media. One claimed that the presenter chased him on third party apps after being rejected on a dating up, and made genuinely scary threats against the young adult with the understanding that the presenter was powerful and held a position of high responsibility. - Colleagues of him at the BBC have made allegations of unwarranted sexual advances. https://ift.tt/4CjKhl5 I detest how many in the media seem to think it is acceptable for older gay men to engage in predatorial behaviour against younger men, especially those who are financially poor or have health and/or mental health problems. The complaint by the colleagues at the BBC basically states the problem - the man is in a more senior and responsible position, and his threats will carry much more weight than normal people. He is predatorial because he is taking advantage of poor young men and drug addicted young men who need money. These people need help getting into a better job* or getting over their health/mental problems, not a creepy old men looking to buy sex. Relationships between young and old men are not normal/common in a gay community and nearly always are only about money from the perspective of the younger male. I think many people here can understand how common and disgusting it is for older gay men to engage in creepy behaviour against young men both gay and straight. A lot of the social media seem to think it's acceptable as long as it's legal. It may well be legal for a sixty year old to have sex with an eighteen year old, but the kind of behaviour the presenter has engaged in should be classified as harassment and a form of misconduct. *And by think it is wholly wrong to demand sex or give privileges to someone on the condition they have sex with you.
