Ask HN: What to do if I got team mismatch?

Hi, HN! I have a regular account, but have to avoid using the real one because I ran into an issue and need advice. I got a job at a european company (I'm based in EU as well). During the recruitment process I have been informed that a single job description is an umbrella for two separate teams within one division. I was lightly briefed on both of team missions by recruiter and I shared my preferences for a specific team. During the interviewing process I have not met the hiring manager, so could not ask for specific from a substitute manager (a red flag I missed). On my final interview round, I was told I'm matching for the team of my preference which made me feel that my goals and the company goals align. But, right at the onboarding day I was informed that I in fact am joining the team that I did not ask for. That made me feel really bitter, along the fact that other org procedures didn't go well at the start (those were minor things like conference rooms bookings got invalidated...happens). I am an SSE with around a decade of years behind my back in the field, and now I have a strong feeling of frustration, as my chat with the interim eng manager made impression that I have time to commit to my new role and the team as they are or there's no other options for me. Thing is that I hve several concerns in regards to delivery and hitting the roadmap goals as I feel I may experience the lack of capacity. Specifically, being the only person handling the middle-end operations, I end up being on constant pager duty. Then plan that was set is that I have to read the HLDs, check out the mission for Q1 and the milestones, talk to the product people. And then set to reconvene with the interim eng manager in a week. No expectations were set by the managerial party for the upcoming 1 on 1. If if were in my shoes, or know a story or two like that or just want to share advice — I would appreciate it a lot.
