We are destroying any goodwill people have for tech with AI

Recently, I have been facing AI bots in many Discord channels when asking questions. Till date, I have never received an actual answer to a question that was usable. This got me thinking, I know tech and I know when the answer isn’t correct. But a lot of people do not. They are using these because every company seems to be sold on them. Worse, some are pretending to be “human” especially in customer support agents for online shopping etc. We seriously need laws (which will obviously not happen) to mark every one of these fake human conversations as AI. Otherwise most normies will slowly, subconsciously lose faith in our industry and repairing that trust and confidence will take generations. This isn’t healthy. Falsely claiming things as real, promising things in the future but not delivering on them. This is insane that we are OK with this as an industry. What does the community here honestly think? And I understand that in some narrow use cases AI does work, but that is not what we are selling as an industry.
